License manager and CCT

Hi there

My CCT server fails to acquire a license from LM. Here is the error i am getting:

'Failed to acquire Master CCT license: Denied'

Will restarting LM on CCMS help and what are the implications to restarting LM during working hours?

Should be no impact as LM will just run in grace mode, and you should have 10 days worth of grace time to use.

Here is the solution i found on the NORTEL website and it worked. What i would like to know, is what cause this problem, because one day its working, next day it isnt.

Nortel Communication Control Toolkit (NCCT) server could not obtain a CCT License

Problem Description
The following error is seen while logging into the Ref Client:

NCCT server could not obtain a Communication Control Toolkit License
Problem Resolution
Perform the following steps:

1. Install the CCT as CCT/Interactive Voice Response (IVR).
2. Modify the System Variable "LSHOST" with a value equal to the IP Address of the Primary License Manager Server (My Computer > Properties > Environmental Variables > System Variables > LSHOST).
3. Restart the CCT Services.

There are some designer peps for LM Nortel only installs them on sites that have this problem. (If it ain't broke don't fix it.)

We have had a similar problem, though at particular times of day.

The issue was an incorrect VLAN setting that then caused havoc on our ELAN, primarily CC6 issues. Once rectified, all OK.
