We're curently running Arcserve 6.61SP2a on two servers. When I try to use the Win2k agent (v7) on Win2k servers, I get license errors in the event logs and Arcserve shuts down the client services on the remote machine. I've tried using the patch that supposedly fixes this problem but still get the license hits. The latest 6.61 version of the agent seems to be working on the Win2K machines and backing up all the files, but I'd still like to be able to use the latest and the greatest. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi
Client agent license is checked from the Arcserve server and since
you don't have Arcserve server 7.0 then this is won't work, to make
utilize the new client agent 7.0 you need to upgrade your Arcserve server to 7.0.
The Agent is background compatible eg: version 7.0 can run 6.x agents but 6.x won't be able to work with it.

My advice is to you is to upgrade your Arcserve server to 7.0
