Licencing only through Software Installer

Hi GUys

Does anyone know if you can use the software installer to JUST chnage the licences on a 3300?

Reason i ask is we want to On line licence all our systems, which for 75% is ok. However we get some who have tied down networks and everythig goes through a proxy.

Now, the 3300 can't use a proxy, but the software installr can. I want to put copy of the software installer on the client machine s everytime the buy new licences we can run it on there

Any ideas? I see doing a full install you can untick pretty much all the options to leave licence and options, but it seems to won;t to do a reboot everytime!

Any help would be appreciated

I was under the impression sync via proxy was ok? its in the tech handbook I think.....

so it does but never got it to work through a proxy?

MitelMatt - Yes you can, but it will reset the system.

Use SWI and choose Full Install.

De-Select everything except for Licensing.

The system will AUTOMATICALLY reset when done.

But also as bobcheese says it states in the Tech handbook that the 3300 can be behind a proxy never got it to work!

It's not te best solution, but use full Install, Uncheck everything except licensing.

Press the retrieve button. When done, do it again.

Next next etc.

When pending, after 45 seconds kill the program Software Installer using "taskmanager".
Don't wait too long or the controller will reboot!!

Your license has been upgraded without reboot.

Hi MitelMatt, sorry been away for a few days. To be honest I dont think I have ever had an issue with it and we dont normally deal with proxy's. We just supply the customer with the docs from the THB and then do the install.
If you need more info I can try and find out for you.

proxy with or without authentication?
clearly Mitel won't do with authentication.

it does work through proxy otherwise.
