Licence issues

Hi

I have a customer with a 406V2 running 3.2.65. It has a alchemy pot 8 module on it and is all working fine,but I am baffled why the licences that are on it, VM pro,eBLF and phone manager pro are all showing as valid licences and work ok even tho there is no dongle on the network PC.
Any ideas?

Hi, No it is not a serial dongle.

Do you have an IP address in the License Server IP Address filed? Could be that the feature key dongle is not on the same machine that is hosting VM Pro.

Like I said there is NO dongle on the network,I have disconnected the unit from the network and the licences are still showing as valid.

You are looking at an offline config then!!!

Open manager and when it is running then press the ctrl button (keep holding it and press the o (not zero but o)
Then login and check again.

To the best of my knowledge I believe that once the license is installed and validated it is always going to show as valid until you upgrade to another release and is not longer needed for the new release, if you do not have a dongle what will happen is that Voicemail Pro is only going to work for a couple of hours.

Not true, the licenses need a dongle all the time (except the ip500v2 which run for two hours without the SD card which is the dongle)

In order for the licenses to work without the dongle you have to order the Bermuda Triangle package. Unless your pbx is located at a 3d movie theater. Then you need the Bermuda Tetrahedron package.

Editors note: Its funny if you understand the mysteries of the Bermuda triangle AND know what is a tetrahedron. Otherwise just move along and watch some riot footage..

Hi

It is not an offline config. I can make small changes on system reboot and all licences are still valid.Could they be licences from a network alchemy unit.Not sure if they needed a dongle to work,bit before my time.

What is the ip address of the license server?
There must be a parallel or usb dongle when there is no serial dongle on the 406V2.

The unit is not even on the network anymore and has not beeen for a few days now.There is no sign of a USB/parallel or serial dongle.
The licence server address is default 255.255.255.255.
