Hi all,

I'm trying to use a piece of software called Tarantella and Red Hat Enterprise 4.

When i start it, it informs me that i need libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2.

So, I search through /usr/lib, and it's right, its not there, or anything like it. So, i install the compat-libstdc++ RPM, which i believe should have this compenent.
Do another search in /usr/lib and its still not there, or anything like it.... And Tarantella still wont start... Help me please, why is libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 not it the compat RMP i installed??

Many Thanks for you help...

Hi, Thanks for your response... It was devel package i used by mistake, instead of the standard one...

Ta...

Invariably this sort of problem is usually solved by creating a link from the base library to the missing library.

Thus you would create a link from libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so to libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2

It's a crap way of doing things but :)
