Library error 1

We are getting the below error in the daemon.log file

10/03/2012 04:12:29 PM nsrd: Jukebox 'STK-L80' failed: No such file or directory
10/03/2012 04:17:28 PM nsrd: Jukebox 'STK-L80' failed: No such file or directory
10/03/2012 04:17:28 PM nsrd: Jukebox 'STK-L80' failed: No such file or directory

We are also now unable to reset the jukebox using the “Reset” button in “Operations” message states and we receive the below error message

Server backup-edin.ros.gov.uk; no such file or directory

Can someone pls help ASAP !!

We had a similar issue last year - for whatever reason the control port for the jukebox has changed.

Run inquire to verify what the system can see. If the jukebox is listed, verify and correct the control port.

What shall i do next..is the issue hardware or software.I have to be precise as i have to advise a client

Should we hard reboot the library or anything...quick response will be much appreciated

For whatever reason it looks like the driver for the library is not loaded.
First i would toggle the jukebox power and retry to "search for ew devices". Then rerun the inquire command.
Next try to reload the driver an worst case, do a reboot.

ALSO MAKE SURE THAT THE REMOVABLE STRORAGE MANAGER SERVICE IS DISABLED!!!!

Hi,

Found that drive 1 had invalid SCSI ID so changed it and rebooted the server as well as the juke box and it came alive after that.

Tried to load a tape in the drive that was changed and the library operations started.

Administrator>jbverify

Jbverify is running on host backup-edin

no enabled stand alone devices found.
