Hi,

I have downloaded the opera web browser version5 from opera.com. During the installation, I have used the following command,

$./install.sf -f /space/opera

The installation went through smoothly. While I am running opera(${/space/opera}./opera), I am getting the following error message,

"libpthread.so.1: version `SUNW_1.2' not found"

I found this libpthread.so.1 under /usr/lib directory.

Could any of you help me to run the application? I don't know how to get rid of this error. My LD_LIBRARY_PATH is pointing to /usr/lib also.

Please help.

Thanks,
Durai.

Wich Solaris Version u are using ?

I tried with 5.6 and i get the same
error.
Try "ldd opera" and you'll see, that
this is not the only error.

I tryed Solaris 5.8, and it worked !

I found a note on the Opera site. If you run opera like:

LD_NOVERSION=yes opera

the version checking is bypassed. This worked for me.
