Hey Team,

We have a number of Systems setup using some Hosted / SIP Trunks and are noticing large delays (sometimes up to 10 seconds) between dialing a number and the call being created with the Ring Tone.
This is usually a period of Silence. Any ideas of setting I can look at changing to possibly speed this up?

Cheers,

Ben

Hi

Have you tried pressing # at the end of the tel number? This sends all the digits straight away and cuts that 10 seconds down by half.

Hi,

You can shorten the inter-digit timer in system timers, the default is 5 secs. Be wary of making it too short, the users will complain of not being able to make calls if they hesitate during dialing.

Set up PGM 206 prefix dialling table.( I know it says ISDN line data but it still works). You will need to state the maximum length of the numbers you are dialling for each lead number. That way if you dial a 7 digit number, the system knows to initiate the call immediately after the 7th digit is dialled.
You will have to enter the prefix dial table you used into the CO programming PGM140
