Hi everyone,
Years ago I always felt the TD and TDA range of systems were much more superior to the GDK and LDK range having had a fair bit of experience on both ranges.
My questions are;
Are the newer Panasonic systems as good as the TD & TDA where 10 - 15 years ago?
Have LG finally caught up with some of the versatility of the TD and TDA ranges especially when you put a TVM (TVA in the US) and TDA solution together?
Is the Panasonic Engineering Programming tool GUI as user friendly as before? I always felt that with a pana the features etc were a bit more self explanatory, whereas the LG terminology was only obvious to a Korean engineer.
Which systems actually do what they claim in terms of VoIP, SIP trunks, Multiple Site Networking and other UC features?

These questions are really only applicable to those who have a good working knowledge of both. I'm at a point now where I have to settle on one manufacturer or the other if I am to take the company forward and would appreciate any advice or opinions. Up until now I have been servicing, supporting and installing equipment that is a bit old so I don't really know how the most recent offerings stack up against each other.
I'm really wanting to know this information for a customer service point of view. I want to make sure the client gets a reasonably priced, reliable and feature rich system and one that is really engineer friendly.
Thanks in advance
Mark

i dont know other systems but

The GUI is same at NCP
At NS its web based

ofc NCP /NS is better then TDA
At NCP + imo u dont need TVA/TVM its onboard / better at NS series (u get UM ports)
VoIP its from TDA15+ alrady
SIP Trunks the same
Multi site, i prefer NS series in IPVPN / Cloud as it is connected on IP basis, and via web to do all
UC Futures , like what? never used it i think? (or i cal it other then UC thinks :D)

if u need advice on TDA+ (better NCP+) let me know,

but ofc im pro panasonic, if u get an pro LG... let him talk to (maybe post also in not the panasonic corner where i dont look :) )

Hi Core,
Thanks for your comments. Really helpful. I've asked exactly the same question over on the lg corner. I'm hoping to get some feedback from engineers who have experienced both systems.
When I say UC I mean things like voicemail to email, cellphone/mobile twinning, call centre working, cti and all those other things a phone system didn't 10 or 15 years ago.

Regards
Mark

ahh yes yes

VM/fax to mail -> yes NS series
Call center? depends what u call an call center, but sure NS series got call center
Cellphone Mobile twinning ( even from TDA .. ) at least i call ext 201 / your phone / dect (WXDP) and mobile can be ring. so yes?
CTI - even from TDA but sure

Do u have an offline tool for NS 1000 series? so u can vieuw an offline NS1000 and build 1 up
if u need 1 let me know ill upload it for you

Hi Mark

i have answered you post on the LG forum

as for the UC it depends on what you mean by that if you are just talking about linking voicemail to email out of the box i think the mitel 5000/MiVoice 250 is the best for this as you get proper unified messaging with exchange or imap email or if you are talking about linking to a mobile the LG UCP has a great little app for iOS and android that you get two free with the system u you also get two desktop clients with voice free as well and there is no need for a separate server

SIP trunks again the LG is better as there is no DSP cards to worry about as well and you can license it up 24 sip trunks before you need to start adding gateways

don't get me wrong i have worked with panasonic for years stating with the KXT KXTD KXTDA/E NS1000 and SICX and ICX there will only be a few people on here know what the last two are.

one thing they do need to sort on the NS1000 is the web interface why is it so small fill the screen not just the center

Eddie,
It's good to know about the lg communicator app, I had been wondering. SICX and ICX now there are a few names from the past! I really appreciate you taking the time to post your opinion.

Core,
I don't have the offline tool yet, that's next on the list for my research. If you wanted to send me one or two configs to look at that would be really generous. I can get hold of the NS tools tomorrow, no problem there.

Regards
Mark

Mark,
NS-Web MC,

hafe fun, dont have configs for you atm,

SICX / ICX .... if i find that in the field... meaning im disapointed in my sales team o_O, but im not that old :D (started at NCP series)
btw , its fun its all " of the box " at other parties , but u pay for it, dont need? dont pay...

Big plus for panasonic = downwards compatible, even on NS series (Old NCP / TDA / TDE's) linking to NS series (for the good old Digital phones)
if u dont need SIP trunking, and no IP phones take an NS700, u dont need DSP card, your old phones from panasonic works on it.
if u need VM to mail, take 1 licence, most companies i work whit dont whant all VM for users, they whant 1 to 3 VM boxes, mostly to 1 mail adress ( = 1 licence )
(standaart 2 UM channels, so u need to look in that part to upgrade some UM channels for big companies)

ofc if they whant ... ill do :)

but again, im pro Panasonic .... :)

cheers,

Panasonic TDA/TDE/NCP/NS Series
