Hello All,

Long time listener, first time caller here...

We just recently got on-board with LG-Ericsson and are setting up an SBG-1000 for a client of ours. It's mostly going ok, but one problem we've run into is it's forcing a "1" prefix on all outbound calls through the SIP trunk. I know it's not the SIP provider (voip.ms), as we use them with other systems and ten-digit dialing works fine (they accept either, apparently).

At a bare minimum we want it to not require the +1 for all four local area codes (416, 647, 905, 289).

If nobody knows how to do this on the SBG-1000, perhaps someone knows how to do it on an MFIM? We got instructions from our distributor's tech dept. on how to activate the LIK-type web interface.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Geoff.

When I understand it right you want to add automatically 1 when someone calls the local area code 416,647,905,289. I think this can be done with LCR which is still working in SBG.

Example:
compared digits:416
Removal Position:1
Number of digits to be removed:3
Add Digits:1461
BR
xs

I dont think thats the SBG supports LCR maybe i am using a different version of software

SBG 1.0Av supports LCR! You can find it in the CO line registration menu.

The system I'm working on is only 1.0Ae, but I cannot find any updates. Where do we get these?

Cheers,
Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

I'm in Calgary and I'm looking for a reliable sip provider for my LIK50's & 100's. How has voip.ms been for you. I assume you are in
Toronto. (sorry a little off topic to the question you asked...I haven't installed any SBG1000's, just using analog trunks & pri's right now)

@nightwolf91

We've been using voip.ms for a couple of years now for our in-house phone system (asterisk-based) and it's been fine. You'll want to check the latency between your location and their closest server. Just ping it and see if the response time is consistent... we get 30-35ms here.

Our main problem is the inability to get any half-decent internet connectivity here, so we're stuck with 5meg DSL for now... Not ideal for doing SIP trunking, but it works.

Cheers,
Geoff.

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick update on how we finally fixed this issue...

Firstly, I should mention that our LG-Ericsson distributor could not get the 1.0Av firmware mentioned by xs650, and the latest 1.0Au does not support LCR. So that was a dead end...

But, looking at voip.ms account settings we came across one called Dialing Mode (under Main Menu > Account Settings > General (tab)), which was set to E164 (the other option is NANPA). According to the help pop-up the E164 mode requires the country code to be dialed, but NANPA will accept either ten-digit or eleven-digit. So we switched Dialing Mode to NANPA, and now we can dial out via the SBG-1000 on a SIP trunk without needing the +1 prefix.

Cheers,
Geoff.

Pleae can i also have the new version 1.0av, i heard the LCR was coming on version 2.

Hi xs650,

I can't see any firmware for SBG-1000 on our lgericssonus.com partner portal. What country are you in?

Thanks,
Geoff.

Hi Geoff, ask the guys from ELG in US, I think they can download it from the ELG
side in Korea.
Greetings

Hi xs650,

Thanks, I was able to get it from my Canadian distributor (Glob-All Communications).

Cheers,
Geoff.
