I recently had my Lexmark 32 and 33 ink cartridges refilled at Walgreens. Now my Lexmark 5470 sends a message that the ink in the cartridges are not genuine Lexmark ink and will damage the printer if not replaced. Whats in Lexmark cartridges that tells the printer they not genuine Lexmark ink? Will using the refilled cartridges really damage the printer? Can Walgreen be held accountable for not supplying the correct replacement ink?

Company's sell there printers cheap and then sockit to you on the cartridges, Thw walgreen's refill ink is just as good if not better, I wouldn't worry about it, it's just there way of scaring you into buting there over priced ink. your paying about $200 a Gal for it. talk about the price of a Gal of gas, it's cheap.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
