I have a customer that is under contract with Level3 and now they are wanting to add some SIP trunks from them to their UCx. Has anyone here dealt with the Level 3 set up and if so can you give me any pointers.
Yes I understand that but this customer is already under contract with them so they are getting a few for testing. I've tested the UCx with some SIP providers that are not on the list but never with Level 3. Babytel is not on the list but yet their wiki site shows a sample set up.
I think they should look at supporting the big carriers SIP service too, such as ATT, Verizon Business, Rogers, Bell Canada SIP, Comcast, Windstream, Centurylink, and Time Warner.
Try giving Level 3 a call and ask them if they support Asterisk. Most providers do and they will have the peer details you need. Just ask them for them. It's in their best interest to support as many systems as they can.
Again I say,"If the provider is NOT listed, then the potential for issues using the service can be present and E-Metrotel may not provide support. "- Maybe one of the E-Metrotel folks will respond to this thread....
I did work with E-Metrotel on this and we have it working now. Part of the issue was L3 had the calls pointed to the wrong IP. As far as setting up the PEER Details it was pretty straight forward. Hope this helps someone it the future.
