Hi all,

is it possible that users can send mail from a service mailbox wich is in a public folder?

we are using exchange 2003.

The meaning is that the users wich are checking the service mailbox can also send e-mail with the service@blabla.nl adres so that customers can give a reply on that adres...

yes its doable.

in AD select service email
Exchange Advance Tab give user Full mailbox access. OK
Security Tab give user Send As. OK

Now if you have more than on user its best to create a Security Group for the users versus adding them indiviudally

If this is a public folder, you'll need to alter nhbilly's suggestion slightly, or you'll run the risk of not finding your object in ADUC.

1. In ADUC, roght-click the domain and click 'Find'.
2. Under 'Find:', select 'Exchange Recipients'.
3. Clear all the checkboxes except 'Mail-enabled public folders'.
4. Click on the Advanced tab and select 'Field, Public Folder, Display Name'.
5. Leave condition as 'Starts with' and enter the name of the Public Folder.
6. Click 'Find Now'.
7. Double-click the public folder that you wish to modify from the list that is returned.
8. Follow nhbilly's directions (#2 & #3).

NOTE: Granting the user "Full mailbox access" is not required unless the user needs to open the actual mailbox (either via a new Outlook profile or Open, Other User's Folder).

OK...the only thing is that i get the message that i must use the exchange system manager for the properties of the public mail...

How must i change the settings then..???

many thanks...

i don't find anything were i can setup the properties for giving a service@blabla.nl on a reply mail.. instead of sending the users e-mail adres...

Well the point is that a don't see a tab "send as"
probably because i can only see the properties of the mailbox with the exchange system manager...

is there a other option to do this?

many thanks

werd up.

never really sent from a different box but only do replies.

maybe just modify an existing email by replying and change the header and subject and body?

Hope thats what your kinda looking for..
