Thought I would mention I had the exact same issue with the textbox control.
An elegant solution is just to simply substitute an editbox in place of the textbox.
Features are nearly identical and the Value and Text Properties (as well as any control sources will contain only the exact string typed or entered. No ghost padding. Leading and training spaces if any are as user entered.
