I have a client with a Legend 7.0 he is down sizing and wants to go to a Magix 1.5 processor. The original legend is a 3 cabinet system, he is going to a 1 cabinet magix with different boards. I want to keep the button, name, programming the same. Using WINSPM I have converted the data base to a 1.5 but it will not load because I keep getting a board mismatch error.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

Is ther any way to put this database on the 1.5 without any card attached?

It's going to be a bigger nightmare to load the Legend programming onto the Magix then it is to just reprogram it. You would have to first default the Magix, then make sure no cards are installed with the Magix unit or else you'll get a board mismatch. Then add the Magix cards, do a board renumber to recognize the magix cards, and then reprogram as needed since the cards will be different.

I suggest starting from scratch, it will save you time in the long-run.

Yes there is.

It's called surrogate mode, and it is done by bringing up the system with ONLY a Power supply and Processor.

What you are trying to do however, can be extremely time consuming.

Here's where you are going to be in trouble.

The LEGEND/MAGIX does not like boards being moved around.

So if you are going down to only 1 cabinet, then you can only use the 1st 5 boards as they are in the switch now.

Will the 1st 5 be the right ones?

If not, you would be just as well off to program it from the start.

I can usually crank one that size out in 3 hours or less.

And, it's especially easy if you already have a print of how the system is programmed.

After investigating further and reading your posts you are right it is a bigger pain. I will reprogram. Thanks for the help.

Question is...why change to a Magix processor?...you don't
gain much...the only feature of any note is the Daylite Savings Time change...so what happens to the 2 other cabinets?....sounds like more work than is needed.

I do what the customer asks, and charge them accordingly.

HD - I think you missed the part where ronromano said they were downsizing.

And, in my opinion, as a person who is HAUNTED by the Ghost of Daylight Saving Time, an upgrade to a Magix is a wonderful thing.
