HELLO THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP I HAVE A CUSTOMER WITH A LEGEND WHICH HAS SOFTWARE LEVEL 2.1 I WOULD LIKE TO INSTALL A 007 MERLIN MAIL VOICE MAIL WILL I HAVE ANY ISSUES BECAUSE OF THE LEVEL ON LEGEND PROCESSOR

Release 2.1 is pretty old. I am not sure you will have a problem - since the 007 is nothing more than a glorified Merlin Mail - but do your customer a favor and get the processor updated - at least to R6.1

Actually, the MLM-007 is really and truly a GLORIFIED 012 T&R Module, with a Merlin Mail R3+ installed on top of it. (The + being a few enhancements to the MMR3.)

Your old Merlin Legend will work ok, but if I was going to do this, I would upgrade the processor to NO LESS THAN a 7.0.

Reason being - it could be upgraded to a MAGIX, and it could (LATER) utilize a Merlin Messaging.

I was figuring he had a CKE3 vs. CKE4 - which is why I suggested R6.1 vs. R7.0 or Magix.

The old R2 Legends can not be upgraded any higher, so might as well go to R7 as the entire processor must be replaced.

My point as well.

Another reason, which I did not mean to leave out is this:

The R2 either has or will have failing memory batteries.

-AND-

It has no flash card back up.

The R7 has the flash card back up, which means, even in the event of memory battery failure, it can easily be restored.

don't forget to look at your power module, since it a r.2 its probablly a 391A1 pwr unit it also needs to be upgraded for MM put in a 391C1
