I have a Merlin Legend R7, V10 System that is running very nicely. It has the following configuration:

Slot 0 CKE4 Processor Version 7, Release 10
Slot 1 408 GS/LS ID (caller ID version - w/ 8 MLX ports)
Slot 2 408 GS/LS - MLX (music on hold is on port 4)
Slot 3 008 (supports older Merlin phones)
Slot 4 012 w/ring generator (for my voice mail and analog phones, fax machines, etc...)
Slot 5 008 ATL (Used for my TransTalk 9031 phones - allows Caller ID name/number to be displayed on the phones, where the 008 above does not)

The system is running great. There is no processor alarm light lit. I did notice, on the programming console, under SYSTEM STATUS, the following. I'm wondering if someone can explain what this screen means:

System Status:
Slot 00: Roff
Slot 01: Roff Yoff Goff
Slot 02: Roff Yon Goff
Slot 03: Roff Yoff Goff
Slot 04: Roff Yoff Goff
Slot 05: Roff Yoff Goff
Slot 06: R Y G (empty slot)
.
.
.

The "Yon" on Slot 2 is my curiosity? Is this some type of soft error???

Your reply is appreicated.

"Y ON" means something on that card is in use.

Not a problem, usually.

My music on hold port is a trunk port on this card, therefore, this might mean that it is in use always, since it is configured for MOH on the port. Thanks for the information. By the way, do you know what the "R" and "G" positions mean??

Thank you!

The color codes go back to the old system 25 days where the cards actually had leds on the cards itself, the Definity still does. The Red light indicates that there is an alarm on the card and something is seriously wrong, when this is lit you will know about it before even having to check it through status. The yellow light means activity on the card. The green light means it is running some sort of test. If you have a DS1 you will notice this while running loopback tests and whatnot.
