Legend R7 w/ Intuity Audix admin issue

Got a call that one of our customers couldn't access their Legend via the Intuity any longer. Went onsite to be sure someone didn't disconnect the cabling and all is well. I tried it myself and it does bring up the SPM window when you select "Switch Admin" from the choices, but then it locks up and I had to do a hard reboot of the Audix to get it back (which I don't like doing!).

Has anyone experienced this before, and if so, what was the fix? This setup has been working for a while and now this started.
 
I had the exact problem when running in "Pass-Through Mode" from an INA board to the craft port. In my case, I got locked up whenever the previous connection was prematurely lost. So if my modem died (read: wife picked up the line), then I'd have to reset the INA in order to get a connection back to the craft port again.

My theory is that some kind of flow control is implemented in pass-through mode which becomes corrupted along the way. Whether this is an XON through the AUDIX or a low DTR signal via INA is up for speculation; I never put a breakout box on it.

I'm curious about your verbage "and now this started". Was this just a one-time thing?
 
I haven't tried using the Audix interface to admin the switch again since then. I just direct connect to it or dial in, but of course this costs the customer money that they don't need to spend just to change the labeling on an ext.

I know the customer had it happen to them first. Then I unlocked (rebooted) it, and tried it after the reboot and it did the same thing. I was told that there may be a patch/upgrade for it that solves this. I have to get the exact release of this Audix and see if there is anything Avaya can or will do since I know they are phasing these out.
 
THere used to be a patch that Avaya would dial in and load on the intuity's to fix this issue. I have seen it alot. Usually pressing the home or Quit will get you back out to the Intuity menu.
