Just upgraded an old r 1.1 legend to an R7 at a Motel with 1 800GS/LS, 1 008 MLX, 6 008OPX boards & 1 012basic tel. Added a Merlin Legend Mail, programmed and now none of the single line sets ring. I DID replace the power supplies, not sure I got the 391A-3 from supplier. Will Board inventory in SPM tell me the power supply model # ??
Got any other ideas what might be the problem. Calls to single line exts. do go to voice mail at the proper # of rings...
Don't know where else to look for now. I'm betting I need the 391A3 power supplies, with ring generator.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The ring generators are boards that were installed inside of the power supplies - Open up the old PSs, pull them out, and reinstall in the new PSs.

Had the same problem a while back - the new PS had recessed 1/2" hex head screws, and there was NO way even a thin wall driver could reach down into the recess to unscrew them. Had to modify a spade bit to drill down through the recess without removing it entirely until we could grip them and get em out.

Wow sounds like fun
Thanks for the reply.

one more thing.
refurb outfit sent 391C power supplies not 391A3. are these newer? or do I need the 391A3?
Dont have any legend R7 docs. I do have a set of R6.1 books
(programming & feature).

Thanks, & happy fourth !

All Legend docs are available on the Avaya.com website under support. I believe you can plug the old ring generator board into either power supply. The alternative is to replace your old 012 Basic module with one that has a built-in ring generator.

The 3 types of supplies that are available are the 391A1, which has a side to side on-off slide switch, the 391A3 has a top to bottom on-off slide switch and is said to support a 75 unit load, and the 391C which is the newest of the supplies available and is said to support a 96 unit load.
