2 weeks before i scheduled to move to a new location i got an a system alarm (red led on processor) and the phones were locked up. i couldn't get the alarm from the console nor could i reboot to restore any services. i had already cut my t1 service and most trunks(no change on equipment, just service discontinued.) i was down to 4 trunks, so i setup single line phones for the remainder of time, turned off the legend, disassembled it and waited to move.

New location new install - what i need is the; (2)008,the 400,the 800, the 012 and the basic carrier. (that's the order i installed also).

Problem - after new install, i am still dealing with the alarm (it's still on). i hoped to bring the system up and with a mlx20d do system erase and reprogram accordingly, but i can't get a mlx20d up because of the alarm. i have dos spm prob r1.

What are my options here? I am confused about the alarm and why i can't get past it. Is the processor down? Is the new configuration without correct programming a prob to boot? Please comment. Thanks

Can you get in with SPM through the admin port? If not, I would recommend removing all of the cards except for the processor and the power supply. Then try it again. See if you can get in. If not, then take apart the processor and short out the batteries or remover the jumper, I'm not sure what the jumper number is but if you should be able to locate it.

It would be the jumper nearest the battery. I'd suspect the alarms are coming from multiple no dial tone conditions on the trunks no longer in service. Best course of action would be to pop the battery jumper as suggested in the previous post and start from square one.

thanks for reply. i did try removing the jumper next to the batteries for 10 seconds, but all the modules were mounted. i'll remove them and try that again.

then i'll try with spm.

will advise.

no luck. took out all modules leaving ps and processor. removed pin on jumper next to batteries. still boots with red led alarm. and i can't connect with winspm. i'm going to try dos.

any suggestions from here?

should i have voltage out of the admin port? or smdr port?
