I have a constant red led on the processor and I can't connect to it via spm.

equipment: 391A1 power supply
Processor w/CKE5 (Numbers on back are 617R33-kml)

Found it in a closet and I am tring to use it for training.
We think we bought it used but never put it in service.
can someone point me in the right direction?

What is the LED code displayed, if any, on the front of the processor?
Have you been able to make it work with any line/station card in any fashion?
How are you trying to connect SPM: via the serial port on the processor, or by modem dial-in?
Have you tried resetting the processor?
Have you checked voltages on the power supply? (This is harder to do with the older 391A1 power supply, since it doesn't have any power supply test points.
I presume your processor has been installed in a clamshell to fit in the Legend backplane, right?

No Led code, Just red status light
tried to connect via admin port on processor(rs232-355a-d8w)
haven't checked voltages.
It is in a clam shell.
I Don't have any other cards, don't want to make an investment if what I have is bad.

How do I reset(frigid start) without going threw programming? If I don't have a back-up will I need to load some software after the erase?

I am new to legend/magix, I work on Partners acs.

Try putting only the processor in the backplane and power it up. It is most likely a board mismatch. You can open up the processor and disconnet the battery strap to default it but once you can connect to a frigid start too.

This board has been up long enough that most topics have been covered and if you do an advanced "search my groups" ,you should find anything you need.

Just go to Maintenance > System > Error Log > Permanent Errors, and at each entry, after reading what the entry is, hit Alt+P. That will clear the error, and remove the red light. The red light doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work. You may want to do the same with the transient errors.
