have an executive with an atl set he has two trunks assigned to his telephone.... a line for general callers (810)
and a private line (801) assigned to his extension (22)....also primary coverage is on for ext:17 & 18

he has two executive secretaries ext's 17 & 18 both have trunks 801 & 810 assigned to them....they also have a primary cover button for ext:22 -I on them......

I ran a trunk report and 801 has no principal user & 810 has ext 7305 as a principal user..... I am not sure why it is set up this way however when a call rings in on trunk 810 it eventualy covers to the intended mailbox 17....his exec. assistant..........when a call comes in on 801 it will ring 17,18,& 22 however does not cover to vmail.......I tried assigning trunk 801 principal user to ext: 22 this did not work......any input would be appeciated....

I assume ext 22 is in VM cover group, so that is not the problem.
The 801 trunk sounds like it might be assigned to a calling group with no members or overflow defined. This would override principal user.
If all else fails move the CO to an unused port if you have one and reprogram from there.
