I am using A legend system and want to creat extensions in software only. I want to have DID extensions that will be in a cover group and forward to voice mail. I have not been able to do this without using a real hardware port. Any ideas on how to do this without using up a real port?

Depending on the RELEASE, all EXTENSION PORTS have a PHANTOM.

For instance, the FIRST PORT is, by default 10, it's ADJUNCT is 710, Renumber to SET UP SPACE and your 1st port is 7100, and your 1st ADJUNCT is 7300.

The term ADJUNCT here refers to the extension that COULD BE if you installed an Multi Function Module (MFM) in the FIRST MLX PORT.

That being said, determine the ADJUNCT EXTENSION's NUMBER and use that (or renumber it to something you can use).

Does that clear it up?

One additional point concerning phantoms, the digital ports (MLX only) are the only ones that have ADJUNCT capability. The analogues do NOT!

Hope this helps!

This is true. However, they are "SHOWN" in the dial plan on some releases, but nothing can be done with them.

BUT you can renumber them, and if you do a "RANGE" renumber, you may use up a number you didn't want to.

The TDL / Magix phones have an adjunct as well.
