Legend Outside call on an intercom button??

OK yesterday one of our clients said that he got an ouside call on an intercom button.Is this possible and if so how do i keep from it.He is not an operator extension or anything and remote call forwarding and stuff is turned off.He is just a regular extension.Is there any way possible that this can happen.Thanks in advance.

Actually, transferred calls can be delivered to an Intercom Button.

 
how can i keep it fro mdoing that? Can you tell me the directions on how to do so.
 
DO you have voice mail?

Does voice mail answer at times?

You really can't keep that from happening, it's how the system works.

(Unless the user wanted to keep Do Not Disturb on all the time.)

But then, they'd never get a call.

 
Maybe the problem is with the type of intercom buttons you have set up. Is the system in "key" or "Hybrid/PBX" mode? What kind of telephones do they have? What is happening that the customer does not like?

It is in PBX mode the phone is an 18D. It has only happened 2 times we are just trying to figure out why the voice mail is setup for night only mode.so it only answers when night service is on.
 
The default on Partner phones line selection is the two bottom intercom buttons first - so when you pick up the receiver - you get "inside" dial tone - and have to press "9" for an outside line. Depending on the SA buttons programmed for the phone in question - you may be able to change were it rings (but I doubt it) by adding another SA Ring button. You could then also change the autoline select to the extra SA Ring button as first choice. As to how the voicemail is programmed - only using "night" mode is one of the setup options. If they want to set the voicemail up for both "day" and "night" mode - you will need to do some reprogramming.
