I am trying to solve a problem for a customer using an analogue TIP/RING port with MW to drive an external indicator strobe when Voice Mail messages are in the mailbox. Does anyone know the format, signalling voltage, duration, etc applied to the TIP/RING leads on the analogue station when messages are waiting?

Thanks in advance!

The analog ports can provide stutter tone to indicate message waiting on single line ports. Otherwise, if the station is equipped with a MWI single line phone, the voice mail can light the lamp on that extension. I have never heard of adapting a strobe for this purpose, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

The analogue station appears as a cover button on a group of MLX phones, so stutter dialtone is not available! Need to know the MWI specs as mentioned above for the LED ckt. What does it put on the loop to turn on the LED??

I would try looking that info up at the station level, not the switch level.
i.e. - look up the specs on a 8101 (it is a s/l set w/ mwl)and see if it provides that info there.

Why not use a cheap T/R phone with compatible MWI LED?

GoKings,
My search for this info (8101) on Avaya's site turned up ZIP! And the practices don't have any explanation either...

Pepperz,
A single line set w/MWI LED will not work in this application!

Does anyone know a source or the info on how the LED MWI ckt on a Legend analogue station works?? Please see previous posts on this thread.

I'll tell you what. I've got this little module. Its a tiny black box with a red LED on it. E-mail me with your address and I'll send it to you. You can pop it open and let us all know what it does.
