I have a Legend v7. A line was configured for music on hold, however I have removed the module that the line is on. I want to configure a new line for music on hold. I disconnected a line from the phone system and connected the sterio in its place.

I went into the AuxEquip-MusicOnHold menu, but when I try to type in the line number [812] I get an error tone. I also tried entering just 12, but I got the same result.

How do I set up the music on hold for line 812 logical id 12?

Is it becase some of the phones have a Line 812 button programmed?

Thanks,
Jeff

Either that or you have not De-Programmed the old MOH line.

Do you know the procedure for de-programming the music on hold? I have gone into the AuxEquip-MusicOnHold menu, and no line appears, and when I click inspect, I get the error tone. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks,
Jeff

Actually, if it's programmed, it should show it's line number, without inspect.

Bear in mind however, the SYSTEM MUST BE IDLE to even look at it.

AND, unless the system is idle, you won't be able to see it.

make sure the line you want to add is not assigned to a pool or princple user

The system is in Key mode. Every phone in the office has a button programmed for line 812.

Do I need to remove line 812 from every phone? If so, does it change the other programmed buttons?

Are they in default numbering dialplan?(ie: are the trunks renumbered to something else?). Otherwise, it sounds like this trunk is being designated for some other use...ie: Principal User.
Is the trunk programmed for paging instead?
Do two prints....one of SETUP and one of TRUNKS(general) and make sure that you are in 8xx line numbering. The SETUP print will tell you what trunk port(if any) is programmed for MOH and Paging.

I am doing this remotely via winspm. If I'm connected over a winspm dial-in, will the system ever be idle? Will my connection cause it to be busy?

Yes, you can make it busy when you are doing this.

If no one is on the phone, it will go ahead and do this for you. (Make the change)

If someone is on the phone, it will tell you and when they get off, it will let the change happen.

So, bottom line, wait till after hours, if you can.
