I am upgrading a Legend R3 to Magix R3 for the first time. My question is: what point do I run the convert step in WinSPM? Immediately after obtaining my backup, or later, after replacing processor and power supplies?

Thanks in advance...

Backup, Then convert, then put in your new card

And to ad to Perv2, Then do a restore from the converted file.

Just upgraded tonight, and it took a little longer than I expected, but that was due to some unforseen issues with the concurrent Merlin Messaging upgrade. Otherwise, WinSPM gave an "unrecognizable circuit pack" message after I installed the processor with 3.0 in it, but I proceeded with the restore anyways and everything was functional afterwards. Thanks both for the quick replies today.

That is just a WINSPM issue.

It just doesn't know how to talk to some of the older cards, and then sends you to STANDARD SPM.

That's OK, 'cause if you ever do a report or anything, it's kept in that SITES file.
