Does any one know the wiring method for ATL phones on a Legend that allows calls to a station already in use to be voice announced rather than ringing the phone?
I have added 2 knew stations to the switch and the customer requires this feature.
All the other stations have this voice announce capability.
I spoke to Avaya tech support they said it’s not a programming issue but a wiring issue; they called it a “voice-announce work around for ATL phones” since it’s not a standard feature on the ATLs, like the MLX units.
The existing wiring on site uses 2 consecutive station ports for each extension…pairs 1,2 & 3 from the 1st port goes to pairs 1,2 & 3 at the station and pair 1 from the 2nd port goes to pair 4 at the station.
I have tried this wiring for the new stations but the 2nd calls to the busy stations just rings no voice announce…the best I could do was abbreviated ring but customer is still not happy because all the other stations has voice announce for the 2nd call.
Voices announce works OK if the stations are free.
Thanks for any help
