Hi everyone.

I have just purchased a Legend V6.1 with a MLM007 voicemail system. I bought a similar setup a couple of years ago and got it up no problem. I've got this one working fine, set up in Key mode, except for the voicemail.

Here's how I want it to work...

A caller dials in and asks for Joe. The operator transfers the call to Joe's extension, say Extension 25, but he isn't there, so the call comes back to the operator. So far this works already. The operator tells the caller that Joe's not available, and asks him if someone else can help, or if he wants to leave a message. He says he wants to leave a message, so the operator transfers the call to, say, extension 55, which goes directly, no ringing, to Joe's mailbox.

How do I set this up?

Richard

Feature 56, DIRECT VOICE MAIL TRANSFER.

A button can be programmed on the Attendants phone to accomodate this.

You may also want to look at CAMP ON and OUTSIDE VM OFF.

That way, she could PAGE JOE, and CAMP THE CALL ON TO HIS EXTENSION, and he could either pick it up where ever he is by doing a PICK UP on his extension, or, if he is in his office, just answer the ringing call.

If he doesn't pick up, the call will return to the Attendant identifying as "return from joe" and she could Direct VM at that time....

Thanks, Merlinman - I have the Camp etc working - it's how to set up an extension for the operator to Direct VM to that's got me beat.,

Richard

You need to put Joe's extension in the Voice Mail Cover Group, usually 30, and then put a VMS OFF button on Joe's phone. Turn the VMS OFF button _ON_, and calls will not cover to voice mail, but return to the transferring extensions. Then you can use Direct to Voice Mail to send the call to VM. If the extension is not in the voice mail cover group, Direct to VM will not work.
