Good morning everyone,

I would like to have advise regarding a HPUX Cluster/Legato and Storage nodes configuration

Description :
I have a HPUX-11 2 node cluster, each node connected to its own autochanger.
I want to set-up all this to have a "simple" failover scenario and i am looking for advise.

I want to do the following :
***1) Install Legato v6.0.1 service as a cluster package and put the index on shared drives.

***2) Install on both nodes, Legato server + Legato client + Storage node software.

"Normal situation" would be : At a given time only one node is Legato Server and uses the index. It is backuping itself on its local autochanger and using Storage Node feature it is requesting the other node to do its own backups. These second node backups are using the Storage Node feature so that it backups directly to the second node autochanger (and not through the network to the Legato server autochanger).

"Failover situation" : Only one node remaining in the cluster.
**** If it is the one wich is acting as Legato server, can I do configuration so that it automatically backups the "dead" node disks to its local autochanger ?

**** If it is not the one acting as Legato server, I would transfer Legato package to that node and access the single index.
Anything special to be done so that it becomes Legato server
(instead of a Storage Node role) ?
Can I do some automatic configuration so that it starts to backup the "failed" node disks top its local autochanger ?

Other considerations ?
Thank you in advance for any advise

Hugues.
