ENV: Legato 5.5.4 Bld333 running on solaris 8 with IBM 3590 tape drives.

Restoring flat files to an AIX client running same version of networker.

The restore starts fine.. then it gets to a point where it just hangs. Progress happens at times but for the most part it just sits there doing nothing.

I am restoring lots of small files, but the restore of about 2882 MB started at 10 pm last night and it is 10 am this morning and only 211 MB have been restored.

Any advice on what may be occuring or how to get it to go faster would be greatly appreciated.

Could you check memory usage of the restore process, I had already seen a case where the restore process was taking more and more memory and more and more time.

It was a bug, try to upgrade to 5.7 or more if you can (and in that case).

To go faster you could also try to do a SAVESET RECOVER instead of a BROWSE RECOVER.
