Hi all ,
I am having problems with my restores hanging.
I am restoring from 'server1' to 'server2' both DEC Unix boxes. The backup server is NT4 SP6a.
The backup runs fine with no errors.
The restore starts ok , restores some files and then hangs (I have waited several hours to see if it 'magically' jumps back into life - it doesn't).
Please note that
1. the restore doesn't seem to hang on the same file each time.
2. there are not thousands of files to restore - in the order of 100 or less.
3. the files are Oracle database files (mainly) and Oracle is shut down .
4. total size of data is around 140Gb.
5. no errors are reported on the backup server.
6. I can cancel the restore and continue from where it failed without any problems (obviously this is not ideal).
Thanks in advance for any help
