I can't backup NT or Windows 9x clients using Legato Networker, although I can backup Unix clients.
A "savegrp -pv Groupname" looks OK, but fails with "clientname is not a registered client". I get the same error message whether I back it up from the Legatp Server, or try to use the WinWorker interface.
Can anybody give me a clue, it's driving me nuts!

Thanks, Glen
Assuming you have added the 95 client into networker admin by setting a default user and dragging and dropping the client via the admin interface...

There are three things I need to do when I add a cleint.
1) The host file on Legato needs to have the client in it.
2) The clients Host file needs to have the legato server in it
3) The Alias field of preferences (when you edit a client in admin) must have the FQDN - not just COPMPUTERNAME, but COMPUTERNAME.MYCOMPANY.COM

Hope this helps...

Using the fully qualified domain name in the "alias" field did the trick. Thank you! Glen
