Legato Disk Extender

Does anyone have any experience with Legato Disk Extender HSM software. When we install this on large servers, it kills performance. Accessing a 1 meg profile goes from 5 seconds, to anywhere from 40 seconds to 10 minutes. Impact on a single large file is less extreme, anywhere from 2 to 10 times as long. CPU use also increase dramtically when Disk Extender is on the server. One server averages 5-6% with out it, 30-35% with it.
