I'm trying to use Legato Networker to backup two Linux Systems, one system is RedHat Linux 7.2 and the other is RedHat Linux 6.2.

The incremental backups work great but the fulls abort.

Legato is installed on a HPUX system O/S version 11.0.

Legato version is 6.0.2 build 251.

I use Legato to backup several HPUX platforms and that works great.

Any known issues with Linux connect to an EMC array?

Thx

That depends on what you mean by... "Linux connect to an EMC array?"

If you are using NFS to mount to the Linux servers, then you'll face the problem that you can always have when backing up NFS device data.

The only difference between the full and incremental is the volume of data being backed up.

You'll have to examine each system, one at a time, and look at the logs to see why they are aborting. Also in each case, what are you backing up?

If the daemon.log and savegroup completion reports does not give any error messages, then you'll have to start the savegroup backup with -vvv and/or -D9 to get a more detailed report.

We are using Linux servers as Networker Servers (2) and Linux servers (intranet, firewall) as clients. We are using Redhat 7.3 and Networker 6.1.2 build 340. The Networker servers are connected to EMC Symmetrix systems via Fiberchannel using Qlogic 2200 hba's. We do not have any problem making full saves of the Linux clients.

Try to search the TechDialog at it is perhaps a problem between 6.0.2 server and 6.1.x Linux client.
