hello
just preparing for exch03 to exch10 transition. small office (30 users). Plan is to install exch10 on internet facing box, move mailboxes hopefully over the course of one day, test and decommission old exch03.
As far as the legacy url - where does it get set - during setup?
I'm thinking I won't need it but does it hurt to set it even if i successfully move all mailboxes as planned?
Not many users are allowed to use owa in our environment.

thx

The legacy is essentially for coexistence so that you can have your 2010 CAS box be Internet facing, but still allow users to get to 2003 mailboxes. If you're going to just stand up the box and then move everyone over, you can generally get away without having it. Some planning needs to take place, though. You need to make sure the 2003 stays Internet facing till you move the mailboxes.
