I have 3 files linked. Clm, trans, and (Alias clm )
clm is linked left outer to trans by clm.fld and clm.fld2
Clm is linked to itself by Clm.fld (this way I can get all of the clm.fld2 fields.
Detail prints as follows:

Clm.fld Clm.fld2 Trans.fld Clm(alias)fld2
3456701 00 $12,483.67 0
3456701 00 $12,483.67 1
3456701 00 $12,483.67 2

The transactions are repeated because of the alias hits
What I want is this

Clm.fld Clm.fld2 Trans.fld Clm(alias)fld2
3456701 00 $12,483.67 0
(trans summed by clm.fld and clm.fld2)1
2
Is it possible to link at summary level to another file or does a summary file have to be created first then linked to the alias file to get the 0 1 2 info

Confusing?

Unless you have some selection criteria on {clm.fld2} that you didn't share with us, I think you should be able to display all values of {clm.fld2} in your report without adding an alias table, since you are using left joins from clm to trans.
