Hi all,
I am using CR XI R2. I am joining 3 tables in my reports Main table A with left outer join to Table B & C

The problem is If Table B or C have no matching value from the join, I am getting null value in the report for both.

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks

Perhaps I missed something in translation but that's what a left outer join does - "Show me ALL the records from table A and ONLY those records from table B and C where the joined field is equal."

If that was your intended logic, then I don't see that you have a problem. The null value doesn't interfere with the data that you wish to display from table A.

If your intention is to see only the records where the value in A has a corresponding value in B or C, then you need equal joins.

dont know what kind of backend you have but I ran into this creating a report and I ended up creating a SQL view and using UNION statements
