Left Outer Join NOT working with Foxpro 1

Hello,

I'm using CR 8.5, Visual Foxpro 8.0, Windows XP, connected using Visual FoxPro OLE DB Provider VfpOleDB.dll.

I have no problems when connecting tables using Equal join but when I need to use a Left Outer Join, I get the following 2 messages and no data:

1. No Rowset was returned for this table, query, or procedure

2. Error detected by database DLL

Could it be because the OLE DB DLL is for VF 9.0 and the DB I'm accessing is 8.0??

Try connecting with ODBC. This has always worked for me.

Thank you dgillz......I tried connecting using ODBC years ago and never got it to work. Even though I had file C:Windows\system32\vfpodbc.dll, the drivers never appeared under System DSN in ODBC Administrator.

Long story short, I downloaded the ODBC driver from

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vfoxpro/bb190233.aspx

and am now able to connect and the Left Outer Join works. MS "highly recommends" using the OLE DB that I was using, but obviously it has problems.
