Left nav does not stretch 100% height browser window 1

Hi I have created a template which works fine in all browsers that I have tested however when I template it up for Wordpress for some reason the left navigation does not stretch 100% height of the browser window in Safari and Google Chrome.

The html validates fine so I dont think the issue relates to that.

Hi the first css is using YUI css reset style sheet. Which seems to bring 2 of the 34 errors is there a better style reset which is CSS 2.1 standard compliant?

The error that concerned me was the utf-8 declaration been in the wrong place in the stylesheet. This seems to have fixed my problem. thanks.

All the other relate to my use of alpha transparency and the use of firefox specific work around as alpha transparency not natively supported in FF.
