I am not the only one experiencing this. Mine just started today, others in the last few weeks.

When I left-click on an empty part of the desktop, the start menu comes up at whatever location I clicked.

Was this part of an automatic update that I was unaware of, or is something wrong. Can it be stopped?

Thanks

Update your AV program with the latest files, and check for viruses.

Thanks, but I figured it out.

The users who experienced this had recently upgraded video drivers from Diamond.

The installation includes a "new feature" which, by default, enables a start menu pop-up. By clicking on the tray icon (a red & white diamond) and selecting Diamond Properties, then going to the "Pop-up Menus" tab, I was able to tick off the option for the start menu.

Another way to avoid this is to de-select "InControl" when installing.
