LED c31 on IBM 520 When Upgrading to 4.2.1

IBM discontinued support for graphics adapter hiprfmge0 in release 4.1. On attempt of complete overwrite of Version 3.2.5, the system will boot from install media 4.2.1 in cdrom and progresses to the c31 LED prompt. Problem is the &quot;Press F1 to select as system console&quot; message is not displayed on the hft.<br>

Same problem when attempting a clone installation from rmt0.<br>

Any suggestions or resources will be appreciated..

I've seen this exact meeage on a model 250. To get around it you need to turn the key from service to normal, then when the number has changed to c45 you turn it back to service.
