Is there any way a conference can be initiated with an MLX-10DP phone between two outside trunks and then be able to drop from the conference leaving the two outside parties connected? (trnk to trnk transfer)

I have had other companies do this while on the phone with them so I know it is possible with some systems.

We are having a great deal of complaints due to the long periods of silence using only a trnk to trnk transfer.

Use a # sign at the end of your trunk-to-trunk transfer - to let the system know you are finished dialing digits - it will go faster.

As for conferencing - unless you want to stay on the line - or put the call on hold - after connecting the two parties - as soon as you hangup - so does the conference. The only exception - I think - is if the conference originator is a QCC Operator position. So if you want to leave a conference - until it ends or temporarily - press "hold".

If you have loopstart lines you could order the centex feature....It's always called something else in other parts of the county..we call it centrex transfer. Then you could place a recall button on your phones....Instead of using transfer...you could use the recall button to initiate 3 way calls then drop off. I believe we pay $3 a month per line for the feature....Maybe $5.
