Hi,

Why is there such a large difference between CALL ATTEMPT and TRUNK SEIZURES..?

Hi Isinor

Here are some iforamtion from Alex
Print out the traffic measurement data for the external destination 13.
[tt]
LCTMP :DEST=13;

LEAST COST TRAFFIC MEASUREMENT DATA

TIME = 14:21:35 06DEC98

DEST CUST CHO CALL ATTEMPTS TRUNK SEIZURES
13 136 114
1 22 20
2 53 50
2 1 3 3
END
[/tt]
There have been 136 call attempts to external destination 13 (not counting the ones for customer 2). 114 of these have got the first hand choice route and 22 have got the first alternative route. Out of these 22, 20 have been successful and 2 have been rejected.

For external destination 13 and customer 2 there have been 53 call attempts and 50 have been successful with the first hand choice and the rest with the first alternative choice.

Best regards

Hi,

Thanks... but strange, because if you look at the print... Why 2 rejected calls... didn’t they use CHO=2

Also CUST=2,CHO=1 (No Default Route Choice) only has 3 CALL ATTEMPTS and 3 TRUNK SEIZURES not 53 and 50.

On my print for CUST=1,CHO=0
[tt]
CALL ATTEMPTS = 39454
TRUNK SEIZURES = 12986
MISSING = 26468
[/tt]
What's happening with the 26468 calls? It looks like they did not use CUST=1,CHO=1 or CUST=1,CHO=2... (These alt routes have 60 and 30 trunks)

So are callers not getting PSTN access on a frequent basis? and how do you know how many calls fail?

Regards
Isinor

When a outgoing call is finish in the number analysis and gets a free outgoing line, then the CALL ATTEMPTS will be increase with one more ATTEMPTS, but if the user drops the call, before all digits are sent or if is a "intelligence" route ( EOS, B-answer etc. ) and this is not recieved by the MD, then the TRUNK SEIZURES will not be increased.
You could also have a fault in the cust - if a extension, with a cust who is not defined in the RODDI table, make a outgoing call then the CALL ATTEMPT will increase but not the TRUNK SEIZURES.
