Learning Harbinger EDI software 2

I am doing a project in EDI Harbinger software while learning on my own! Is there nybody out there who can help me with my doubts! It is a live project in Chicago!Help me ASAP coz i got struck at one point where all my options got over..Harbinger online support sucks! Well,thanks ediman..whats TLE? I think i am in EDI/Open!Will be gettin data files from a Visual Basic application a Sequential file format!I have to build maps for INV,ASN,PO for almsot 20 trading parnters!<br>
What about you?Did u get trainedfrom Harbinger?<br>

well first of all TLE means Trust Link Enterprise, is Harbingers translator, as you know Harbinger bought Premenos, Premenos' translator is EDI/Open, I went for training with Premenos about two years ago, I did not really learn very well on that training, but now I can get around, I have been working with it for about two years.<br>
If the data file extract is the same for all your trading partners, you can create one generic layout for each invoice, purchase order, etc and link it to many maps, each trading partner has its own map(needs). <br>
This way you know what each trading partner wants and grab it from the layout to link it to the map. If you want you can send me some test data output from your application and give you an idea if I can help. what does ASN stands for?

ASN stands for Advance Ship Notice! I guess its 864! I too have to use TLE to write scripts for unattended operations! Data file extract is same for all the trading partners but has to be mapped against different maps! Now I am doing Invoice 810 v004010! I have no clue whats Premeno's is!Guess there is no need to know about it! I have started working on Harbinger just 3months back and learning on my own!I have generated the map and run the map too..got struck at error 2045 Invalid Date field..I think I should be able to correct it! First of all, Premenos is the company that created EDI/Open. Harbinger took over and they have their own translator called TLE, they still support EDI/Open.<br>
I do not know what the 2045 error means, and I have no clue what you are doing to get this error.<br>
Whenever I create a map I start by creating the Layout, this is a set of fields in records and then when you finish this records you create loops. once this is done you save the layout and you never get one of those errors you are talking about.<br>
After you have the layout ready you create the map, this is the easiest part since you only click and select segments you need. Then link the fields to the elements and loops to loops.<br>
can you tell me what you are doing when you get this error?

I use STMAP runtime version 4.1Paradox for Windows! I define a user file by clicking the icon and define user records from the data file I get from the application which is VB and then select 810 INV as Transaction set then select all the segments the trading partner wants me to include and then do the mapping to the elements in the segments to the user record fields I defined from the application! Well I am sorry I do not remember the error number 2045..but by reading the message I corrected it!<br>
Do u use the same STMAP and STX Utilities like STX Form builder,report generator and STX Administration, Operations modules...let me know Thanks for help

I am sorry RY, I am not familiar with that STMAP utility you are using. I tought you were using EDI/Open, there is no need to use STMAP in EDI/Open, everything is included in the software to create a map.. sorry for the misunderstanding.

I use Harbinger STX Dos. I need to use a flat file and import the data (830 planning schedule, GE8 Overlay) into a spread sheet. Can anyone help?

Harbinger purchased Premenos which was originally ACS - started out as a clothing company... The package developed from inhouse &quot;EDI&quot; software sold well, and &lt;poof&gt; went the clothing business.<br>

Premenos used to have top-notch support, since the Harbinger deal (1996/97-ish), both first and second level support have degraded to the point of USELESS! &quot;Preminger&quot; or &quot;Harbenos&quot; has become a shadow of its former self, and is no longer on the list of EDI packages I recommend.<br>

Hi everyone. I just want to ask if someone from NY or NJ here knows how to map and send data to the trading partner.
I'm using STMAP and Trusted Link Windows. I already have overlays I just nedd help to map it, I have all the spects.

Can anyone help me get a copy of the STMap utility for TrustedLink Windows? I am a user of the TrustedLink Enterprise, but have a new customer that would like for me to do offsite maps using the STMap. I currently have TrustedLink Windows 4.3, but dont think that I have the STMap utility. It would greatly help?! Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I reccommend that you try looking into Avery Dennison's EDI translator, it is quick, easy and they have tons of free technical support. In fact, just send them your 850, they will map it and have you on line with your trading partner in no time.

STMap was a product from Supply Tech. It was purchased by Harbinger and now is a Peregrine product. Do you have STMap or STX12? I need more info from you before I can determine what may be causing your problem. Have you created any other maps/templates? If you have STX12 rather than STMAP you can't modify the templates, Peregrine must do it for you.
