Leader line problems in Charts

I'm contanstanly having problems with leader lines being displayed properly or at all when selecting this option with 2D and 3D pie charts.

To display the leader lines, I go into edit mode for the chart, select 'Chart Options' > 'Data Labels' then check the box for 'Show leader lines'.

I've encountered this problem in MS Access 2000 and 2003.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or am I doing something wrong.
