Nite !

A friend wants to use LDP enhanced protocol on a HP 2626 switch to assign VLAN ID to MITEL devices...

It works with CDP but seems to have trouble with HP..
Does someone has done it before ?

Now, it's about French users too !!!

Look on Page 261 of the Engineering Guidelines. It gives a very easy "how-to" and step-by-step for configuring ProCurve switches for LLDP (not LDP) and for those of people who are stupid enough to work with CDP, it's there too..... Does Crisco expire?

WOW!

Quick Start - Getting LLDP-MED Running Quickly
To get LLDP-MED working quickly, all that is required is to identify the appropriate VLAN with the "voice" services as part of the normal switch configuration procedures. The example, below uses VLAN 63, but this can be replaced with any valid VLAN ID value.

--> HP ProCurve Switch 5304XL(config)# vlan 63 voice <--

By default, LLDP and LLDP-MED are enabled, and default Priority and DSCP values are already
defined for voice services. All that is required is to identify the voice VLAN with "voice" service
and enable this at the required port.

Thanks for the TIP,

We've found too :

In the config menu (conf t), the command is : lldp run

BUT, the device has to have the latest version (2.1.0.4 or something like that).
So, the device version has to be correct before beigin able to use LLDP on the switch.

Enjoy
