Hi! All,

I am new in Domino and after the installation & configuration, we had this error poppoing up in the console & Domino can's be started.
Need your kind advise.

LDAP server : Listener failure, TCP/IP port [389] is already in use in this system

Hi ! I forgot to mentioned, the domino is on a W2k server SP3.

Windows 2000 uses LDAP by DEFAULT. If you don't need LDAP services in Lotus, turn it off. There is a switch that can be entered in the notes.ini so that LDAP will not start. If you require LDAP in Lotus, you must change the port.

Hi,
had a similar problem on our AS400 running domino, it turned out that both domino and the AS400 where attempting to run smtp services thus causing a 'port already in use' error. Check the services that are currently running on your win2k server maybe even temporirly stop all the services apart from system ones and then try running Domino again.
