LDAP remote connection server settings Win2K srvr

Any suggestions on how I create an LDAP server and make it accessible to external outlook clients? I want users to have offline address book sync'd with my Global address book. When you go to Outlook and add an LDAP directory service it wants the server name. What should it be? I have LDAP open on my firewall and put in my FQDN of the Exch server. I have win2k server and exchsrvr2k. HELP!!!
