Hi everyone , I am currently studying LDAP in the subject of
migrating local users to LDAP server, for building central authentication system.
I have come across some thing that puzzled me, and that is, MIGRATING /etc/services/ or /etc/protocols to LDAP server.
I guess may question is what is the purpose of MIGRATING /etc/services or /etc/protocols across the network to lDAP Server ?.
I recently came across , some information about How to configure OpenLDAP to work with Check Point Devices.
besides being a central Authentication system, what other features does LDAP sever have?
Could you please list some examples of the uses of lDAP with Cisco devices or other devices or services?
What is the interoperability of LDAP with ACTIVE DIRECTORY?
How is the data in /etc/services and /etc/protocols used
when migrated into LDAP server container?
thanks to every one,
